Day 1 - News & Updates
Thank you all for reporting your bugs, glitches, and issues! Here is what we have learned today.
The Gender Neutral bathrooms have the wrong locks
The doors say "unoccupied" but are locked close. If they have a "wave to open" control, this WILL open the door for you. If it is locked and "occupied" you are safe inside. The wave to open will not work.
This has been reported and facilities is working on it. Here is a floor by floor update.
- 7th floor - use the wave to open to
- 6th floor - unavailable
- 5th floor - can be opened
- 4th floor - unavailable
- 3rd Floor - can be opened
- 2nd floor - use the wave to open to
- 1st floor - use the wave to open to
- Basement/Garden - unavailable
You need an AV Passcode to use the AV in the classrooms on B-2
If you are not used to teaching in a GA room, this might be new to you. It takes 5 minute to get a passcode. Take care of it soon to be ready for day 1!
Complete the click through training here and the passcode generation is immediate: https://av.fpm.wisc.edu/
The sit to stand desks may need to be "calibrated"
Make sure everything is plugged in, it should be!
If your sit to stand desk isn't working, hold the small rubber switch on the right hand side down all the way for 5-10 seconds. It will make a little noise and wiggle indicating it is "calibrated" and then should work correctly.
The keys are sticky!
They do work, but you may have to wiggle them a bit to get in the locks the first time. If the problem continues, please let us know!
Your white boards ARE magnetic... you just need a strong magnet!
You can get additional ones from the company, but a rare earth magnet will work.
Printing Discoveries
Please ignore the "money" on your account - it is needed for you activate the printers but you are not being charged!
The online print feature maxes out at 10 copies - but you can adjust the number of copies at the copier! You can definitely print for your whole class.
