ECMS - How to Open a Large View in the Percepetive Content Management Console

This document explains how to increase the client timeout for opening a view that times out when it is opened in the Perceptive Content Management Console.

Generally, this procedure requires administrative access. 

  1. Close the Perceptive Content desktop client and Management Console

  2. Open Windows Finder and set the address bar to
    %ProgramFiles(x86)%\ImageNow\etc

  3. Right-click, and make a New> Text Document, and name it inmc.ini

  4. Open the file  and add the following text:
    [Remote]
    heartbeat.interval     = 60
    socket.login.timeout   = 600
    socket.default.timeout = 600

  5. Save the file

  6. Launch the Perceptive Content Management Console and open the view. Wait and be patient for the hourglass to resolve into the the view configuration.
