Sequence of Events for Patching to EP4 August 12th and 13th

Patch Activities

Below is the sequence of events scheduled for this week Thursday, August 12th and Friday, August 13th.

[Thursday, August 12]

  • 6:00 pm - Production system shutdown for backup and upgrade. Department Leads will be contacted when this begins 

[Friday, August 13]

  • By 8:00 am - Department Leads will be contacted when the following services are available in Production for user acceptance testing
    • Perceptive Content Client
    • Perceptive Experience
    • eForms
    • Import/export processes
  • 8:00 am  - Imaging Team begins support for user acceptance testing in Production
    • Acceptance Testing
      • From 8am to 11am the Production system is available for user acceptance testing and should not be used for full Imaging production as there is a risk of document loss IF the EP4 update fails user acceptance testing and needs to be rolled back to EP3.
    • During your user acceptance testing of Production if you run into issues please inform the Imaging Team at imaging-support@doit.wisc.edu
    • Final User Acceptance Testing due before 11:00am. Please submit your results at https://webforms.imaging.wisc.edu/ecms-testing-reportissue-form/
  • 11:00 am - Assess environment and determine the need for an update roll-back
    • If NO significant issues are identified during user acceptance testing, the Imaging Team will
      • Contact Department Leads with decision
      • Set PEDS to update Imaging clients
      • Normal support obtains
    • If significant issues are identified, the Imaging Team will
  • Decide if an update roll-back needs to occur
  • Contact Department Leads with decision
