Perceptive Experience - Searching for and viewing documents

Perceptive Experience is the HTML5 web client for the Imaging Service at UW-Madison. This document details how to use Perceptive Experience to find and view documents.
  1. Log into Perceptive Experience and choose "Documents" from the home page.

  2. A list of views available to you will display on the left-hand side of the page. Click the view that you'd like to open.

    Click the view from the drop-down list

  3. Searching for documents:

    1. To see all documents available to you for the selected view, click Search.

      Click Search

    2. To search within the documents for the selected view, click Search in [view name]. Use the drop down menus to select the parameters for the search.

      Add constraints to your search

    3. To add an additional constraint, click Add in the search bar.

      Click "Add" for additional constraints

  4. When finished setting search parameters, click Search. A list of results will display.

  5. Click on a document in the list to open it.

  6. Use the toolbars at the top and bottom of the page to manipulate the document, e.g. annotate, zoom in/out, export to file/PDF, etc. Mouse over a button to see its function. If you do not have permissions to use a button, you will see it but will not be able to use it.
