Kaltura released a new version of Kaltura MediaSpace analytics on March 24, 2020.
UPDATE: Originally Kaltura had planned to release the new analytics tools on March 16th. This did not happen due to the pivot towards scaling up in respond to COVID-19. Kaltura released the new analytics on March 24th. Additional information on the updated analytics is available in Learn@UW-Madison's document Kaltura - MediaSpace analytics or Kaltura's document Entry Level Analytics.
On March 24th Kaltura MediaSpace's new analytics replaced the old text table-based analytics. Users will continue to have a summary of important statistics like player impressions, plays, unique viewers, minutes viewed, average completion rate, and social highlights:They also provide a graph to see the number of views over the duration of the entry to see which sections of the video were of the most interest to your audience:
Kaltura MediaSpace's new Views on Playback analytics shows the number of views over the duration of the video. Here we see declining interest towards the end of the video.
The new analytics also provides information in graphs that include:
- Number of player impressions per day or month
- Number of plays per day or month
- Unique viewers per day or month
- Minutes viewed per day or month
- Average completion rate per day or month
- Average drop off rate per day or month
