eText & DLTs - Scheduled Update to Pearson, July 3, 2020

On Friday, July 3, 2020 12:00AM CT - 8:00AM CT, Pearson will be updating several of their systems to improve performance and security. There is a contingency date of Sunday, July 6 in case follow-up work is needed.

Learn@UW-Madison does not support Pearson products, but we recognize some university colleagues use these tools and wanted to provide this update. This work is part of Pearson's monthly scheduled maintenance events. Engage participants not using a Pearson DLT will be unaffected by this outage. Details about the work being done are below.

  1. MyLabs & Mastering: You and your students will be unable to access  your courses for the entire maintenance window. 
    • This impacts anyone accessing courses through Canvas. 
    • When you and your students attempt to access your courses, a splash page will appear with information about the maintenance work.
  2. Revel: You and your students  will be unable to access  your courses for the entire maintenance window. 
    • This impacts anyone accessing Revel content through Canvas. 
    • When you and your students attempt to access your courses, a splash page will appear with information about the maintenance work.
  3. Enhanced Revel: You and your students will be unable to access your courses for the entire maintenance window.  
    • When you and your students attempt to access your courses, a splash page will appear with information about the maintenance work. 
    • Content downloaded to the mobile app before the maintenance begins will be available. 
    • Course registration will not be impacted. 
  4. MyLabsPlus: You and your students will be unable to access your courses for the entire maintenance window.  
    • When you and your students attempt to access your courses, a splash page will appear with information about the maintenance work.
  5. Writing Solutions, Pearson Prep, MediaShare, Live Response, and Group Work:  You and your students  will be unable to access  your courses for the entire maintenance window.
    • When you and your students attempt to access your courses, a splash page will appear with information about the maintenance work.
Pearson will post in-product messages 72 hours prior to the July 3rd event. You can also find messages posted to Twitter, @PearsonSupport, and on the Pearson Support webpage.   Also, for your reference the full Planned Maintenance Schedule in 2020 has been posted to Pearson's Support web site.
