Turnitin is experienced some unexpected service issues on Wednesday October 26, from approximately 12:28pm to 3:19pm.

At 12:28pm (CT), Turnitin reported some unexpected service degradation. Since then, users have been experiencing slower generations times for similarity reports. Turnitin is actively working on the issue and it should be resolved soon.

If you believe that you are experiencing issues related to this service degradation, please wait 24 hours from when assignment submissions were made to Turnitin to see if the issues have been resolved. If the similarity reports are not generated, instructors may have to resubmit the submissions by clicking the resubmit button in Canvas Speedgrader. If this does not resolve the issue, please contact the DoIT Help Desk.

The Learn@UW-Madison team is monitoring the issue and will update this news item as the situation develops. You can also follow the issue at Turnitin's statuspage entry for this incident: https://turnitin.statuspage.io/incidents/nxmkfq18q00z

As of 2:59pm (CT) Turnitin is reporting that they've issued a fix for this issue and are currently monitoring to see if the issue is fully resolved. Similarity report generation times should be back to normal, but users may still have to resubmit.

As of 4:01pm (CT) Turnitin is reporting that the issue is now resolved. If you or any users you may support believe they may still be experiencing issues related to this service issue, please contact (or advise your users to contact) the DoIT Help Desk.
