Engage - eReader Update Occurring May 13

Unizin will be updating the Engage eReader from RedShelf to VitalSource on Wednesday, May 13, from 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM.

VitalSource has recently purchased RedShelf, the vendor of the eReader being used for Engage eTexts. Because of this, the Engage eReader will be transitioned to VitalSource's eReader. The transition will take place on Wednesday, May 13 at 9:30 AM, and is expected to take roughly an hour to complete. During this time, users may experience interruptions when viewing Engage eTexts. You can check Unizin's status page to follow along with the transition.

Some things to note:

• Upon opening an eText in the VitalSource eReader, you will need to accept the VitalSource EULA - this will only need to be done once, when the eReader is accessed for the first time.
• Unizin is still working on getting the analytics feed set up correctly. While they hope to have this work completed by the time of the transition, the Reading Insights dashboard may be temporarily unavailable if they are unable to do so.
• Our documentation will be updated on May 13 to coincide with the transition; until then, Unizin has posted documentation on their website.
• You will not lose access to any eTexts purchased in previous semesters. They will be accessed by the same methods as they are currently.
• Highlights and notes will need to be recreated after the transition. If you have a lot of notes, we can work with VitalSource to get a print out of them. Please reach out to the DoIT Help Desk to initiate this request.
• If you have any issues accessing your eTexts once the transition is complete, please reach out to the DoIT Help Desk for assistance.
