Faculty and instructional staff, getting prepared for a new semester is a big challenge. Launching your Learn@UW course site can be easy if you keep in mind the following tips:
1. Be sure to ACTIVATE your Learn@UW course
Students cannot see your Learn@UW site unless you set it to "Active". Here's how:
For more detailed steps, see this illustrated guide.
- Click "Edit Course" in your Learn@UW course
- Click "Course Offering Information"
- Check the box next to "Course is Active"
- Click "SAVE"
2. Why isn't my roster updated in Learn@UW?
Good question. Rosters in Learn@UW are typically updated nightly. However, on some nights roster-updating is suspended due to technical maintenance (we need to get work done on the system prior to classes starting) or holidays. Always check the Faculty Center within My UW for the most accurate course roster.
3. I have a lot of files to post in my Learn@UW course. Is there a quick way to do this?
Yes! Check out this article to find out how.
4. Edit your Learn@UW home page to add helpful course information
Watch this tutorial to learn how to add a "Course Information" widget to your Learn@UW course home page.
5. Can I learn to use Learn@UW on my own or do I need to call someone?
There are lots of ways to get assistance with using Learn@UW. Here are some great places to start:
- "Getting Started with Learn@UW" online tutorials
- Detailed Tool Guides (Discussion, Grades, Homepage/Navigation Bar, etc.) in downloadable PDF format
- Find people who can help with Learn@UW
Best wishes for a wonderful new semester!
