Cisco VoIP - Making calls from a Cisco desktop telephone (7841/8851)

Instruction on how to make calls and different calling features for the 7841/8851 Cisco VoIP phone.

Make a call with handset

Procedure

Lift handset and dial the number using the VoIP dialing patterns outlined here: Cisco VoIP - Dialing patterns

Make a call with the speakerphone

Use your speakerphone for hands-free calling. Keep in mind that your coworkers might be able to hear your call too.

Procedure

Step 1 Enter a number using the keypad.

Make a call with a headset (Cisco Model 8851 only)

Use your headset for hands-free calling that won't disturb your coworker and gives you some privacy. Please note that DoIT only supports the Jabra headsets purchased through the Tech Store or MDS. Headsets only work with Cisco 8851. There are no supported headsets for the Cisco 7841.

Procedure

Step 1 Plug in a headset into USB jack on the side of the phone or connect via Bluetooth

Step 2 Enter a number using the keypad.

Redial a Number

You can call the most recently dialed phone number.

Procedure

Step 1 (Optional) Select a line.

Step 2 Press Redial.
