Device Activation

Instructions on how to activate a new device for a customer either in the portal, but phone or by email

Activate a Device

AT&T:

Email

    1. TO:           tate@att.com
    2. Subject:                 Activate Device
    3. Please activate the following device
      1. Account
      2. Number
      3. Device ID (MEID/IMEI)
      4. SIM# (ICCID)
      5. Username (Person that will be using the device)

Portal: N/A

 

US Cellular:

Email

    1. TO:           StateofWI@USCellular.com
    2. Subject:                 Activate Device
    3. Please activate the following device
      1. Account
      2. Number
      3. Device ID (MEID/IMEI)
      4. SIM# (ICCID)
      5. Username (Person that will be using the device)

Portal

    1. Login to the US Cellular portal
      1. Enter the Account number the device is billed to if the following is not already on screen
      2. Activate an Ordered Device/SIM
      3. Enter the phone number
    2. Check box next to number, check the blue Activate.
    3. You will receive email confirmation of activation
    4. Send customer Cherwell email that the device has been activated.

 

Customer Self Service

If you're upgrading your device on an existing line or if you're bringing your number to UScellular from another carrier:

If you're activating a new line with a new phone number:

  • Power on your device and follow your device's setup instructions.
  • If after a few minutes, if your device does not connect to the UScellular network, simply visit UScellular Activation and follow the setup instructions.

 

 

Verizon:

Email    

  1. TO: Julie.Pfaffle@verizonwireless.com
  2. Subject: Activate Device
  3. Please activate the following device
      1. Account
      2. Number
      3. Device ID (MEID/IMEI)
      4. SIM# (ICCID)
      5. Username (Person that will be using the device)

 

Phone

  1. Call Verizon Device Activations 877-807-4646 (usually an automated process)
    1. If asked for a PIN:   5963
  2. Enter the Mobile Number of the device you wish to Activate
  3. When asked if you want to activate the device now, respond Yes (or 1?) to confirm
  4. Once confirmed hang up, or speak with an agent if there is an issue

Portal

  1. Login to the Verizon portal
      1. Under the Service section, enter the phone number of the line.
      2. At Device ID: Click on Activate
      3. Enter Device ID
      4. Enter SIM (if smart phone)
      5. Verify the user name
      6. Click Continue
  1. Click on Review; verify information and click Submit.

Cherwell

  1. Send customer Cherwell email that the device has been activated.

Pinnacle
