Information about and FAQs January dinner, Tuesday, 1/27/15 In Varsity Hall, Union South

Join other new students, Transfer Ambassadors, and university staff for a fun and engaging evening! All new transfer students are encouraged to attend this official welcome to the university. FREE dinner and giveaways will be provided to new students. Please RSVP by NOON on Tuesday, January 20, 2015.

This two-hour event will include a catered dinner, welcoming remarks from Aaron Bird Bear (a former transfer student and one of UW's most popular speakers), a Q&A panel with the Transfer Ambassadors, and more! Please dress casually and comfortably.

The buffet dinner offers both meat and vegetarian options. If you have additional dietary restrictions, please contact us at transfer@studentlife.wisc.edu.

FAQs
Q: How do sign up for the dinner? OR Can I just come to the dinner?
A Students need to register for the dinner here's the link: www.transfer.wisc.edu/dinner.php

Q: Is this a required event?
A: No, but all new transfer students are encouraged to attend!
 
Q: I was a transfer student in the fall, can I attend? OR I am a new freshman, can I attend?
A: The Transfer Welcome Dinner is only intended for first-semester transfer students.
 
Q: Can I bring a guest who’s not a transfer student?
A: This is a Wisconsin Welcome event for new transfer students to meet other new transfer students, and we are not able to accommodate extra guests. Watch for other Transfer Ambassador events where guests are welcome!
 
Q: The registration deadline has passed. Can I still sign up?
A: The website will continue accepting registrations as long as space is available. You could also try emailing transfer@studentlife.wisc.edu.
 
Q: I have a scheduling conflict. Is it okay if I come late/leave early?
A: We encourage students to attend the whole event if possible, but we’d rather have students attend a portion of the event than nothing at all.
 
Q: What is the dress code?
A: The meal is formal, but the dress code is not. Feel free to dress comfortably and casually.
 
Q: Who can I talk to about dietary restrictions or other accommodations?
