Presentation Room Procedures
Room 120 Middleton Building
These procedures must be adhered to when using the Middleton Presentation Room (Room 120). Failure to adhere to procedures may result in loss of Presentation Room privileges.
Presenting using the desktop computer:

Turn on the provided wireless keyboard and mouse. The “ON” position is marked with a line.

Turn on the desktop and monitor. The computer is placed on its side on the middle shelf of the cart. Once the computer is fully turned on, log in using your netID and password.

Use the wall mounted “SCREEN” controls to lower the screen fully. After the screen is lowered, power on the projector and wait ~15 seconds by using the “PROJECTOR” controls.

Change the projector input to “Input-B” using the “SOURCE” button on the “PROJECTOR” panel.

You are now able to present using the desktop.
Clean up:

Turn off the provided wireless keyboard and mouse. The “OFF” position is marked with a hollow circle.

Turn off the projector and raise the screen.

Log off from the computer and turn the monitor off.

Gather all belongings before locking the door and returning the key.
Technical difficulties:
-
If steps 1-4 result in the projector projecting a blue screen, select “Input-C” and then “Input-B” again.

Presenting using a personal device:

Use the wall mounted “SCREEN” controls to lower the screen fully. After the screen is lowered, power on the projector and wait ~15 seconds using the “PROJECTOR” controls.

There are 2 methods to connect your device to the projector, with the easiest listed first. (Other dongles are available for advanced use cases).

VGA cable*, either with or without the USB C converter.

Stored on the top shelf of the cart, marked with a green pipe cleaner. Converter can be detached.

HDMI cable, either with or without the USB C converter.
-
Stored coiled behind the monitor on the cart, marked with a red pipe cleaner. Additional converters are inside the cart.

Change the projector input using the “SOURCE” button on the “PROJECTOR” panel. Set the input to “Input-A” if you are using the VGA cable and “Input-B” for the HDMI cable.

Regardless of connection method, plug the chosen cable into your device.

If needed, configure the display settings on your device to allow for projection of its display.

If using HDMI, press the “SWITCH” button on the small black HDMI splitter box until the light next to “ INPUT 3” glows blue.

You are now able to present using your personal device.
Clean up:

Unplug your device.

Return cables to starting locations, as listed in section 2a and 2b.

Turn off the projector and raise the screen.

Gather all belongings before locking the door and returning the key.
