Java 8 update 141, release July 19th, 2017, does not work with WebNow.

Users attempting to access WebNow from a workstation with Java 8 update 141 will encounter a mostly blank page. Options to work around this are:

  • If at all possible, your users who rely on WebNow for access to the Imaging system should NOT update their Java installs to Java 8u141. The last known version of Java testing confirms to work is Java 8u131.

  • Use the Perceptive Content desktop client to access documents and perform other tasks. See [Link for document 31846 is unavailable at this time]

  • Use WAF. See: ECMS - Using RDS for Perceptive Content – This option provides a Perceptive Content Client running in a Windows environment. Macintosh/Linux users will need a Windows Remote Desktop client to use WAF (see WAF KB documentation).

  • After our scheduled Imaging patch on August 10, the new Perceptive Experience Web client will have Search capability, and though it is not as full-featured as WebNow, it provides sufficient features (access to documents, workflow queues, etc.) to replace WebNow for daily use.
