GSTS - How to Add a Program Milestone with Existing Milestones

This document provides supplemental information for assigning milestones. If you have a student with existing milestones on their record follow these instructions to learn how to add more milestones to their record.

Case 1 - Student with Graduate School Milestone

    If there are Graduate School Milestones (preliminary exam) on the student's record, you will see the Student Milestones page with the student's details on top and an Effective Date, but no milestone details. Since only the Graduate School has access to view, add, or change these specific milestones, you will not be able to see the details.

    1. On the Student Milestones page, click the + sign next to the "Milestones Copy" button. The Effective Date should change to today's date and another page of milestones information will appear.

    2. On the page with the most recent effective date, click the "Add Milestones" button.

    3. Continue with Step 11 of GSTS - Assigning Milestones.

    Case 2 - Student with Program Milestones

    If the student already has a program milestone, you will see the Student Milestones page with information already filled in under Milestone Detail.

    1. On the Student Milestones, page click the + sign next to the "Milestones Copy" button. It may look like nothing has changed, but the Effective Date should now say today's date, and you should see that there is now another page of milestones information.

    2. On the page with today's date, click the + sign in the top right corner of the Milestone Detail box (NOT the + sign next to the "Milestones Copy" button).

    3. Continue with Step 11 of GSTS - Assigning Milestones.
