GSTS - Deleting an Exception
This document outlines the process of deleting a GSTS exception that was made for a student.
Step 1:
- Navigate to the GSTS Exceptions Tool through UW Madison Applications > Graduate School > GSTS Authorize Exceptions
- Search for the student with the exception you want to delete by entering their Empl ID # (also known as a SIS ID #) in the "Empl ID" field. If you do not have that number on hand you can use the magnifying glass icon to open an advanced search window.
- Select "Search".
Step 2:
Once on the Authorize Student Exceptions page identify the specific exception that you want to delete under "Current Exceptions to Submit" (not that this section displays all exceptions that have been submitted).
Step 3:
- When you are able to identify which exception you want to delete select the "Delete" button to the right of the exception.
- A window will then pop-up asking "Are you sure you want to delete this exception? This exception has already been posted." click the "Yes" button.
- A second window will then pop-up again confirming "Are you sure you want to delete this exception?" click the "Yes" button.
Step 4:
To verify that the exception has been successfully deleted check that the exception is not longer listed under the "Current Exceptions to Submit" section, and then click the "Advisement Report" hyperlink above that section to open the student's GSTS Advisement Report and confirm the exception is no longer listed.
