Orientation Materials

Grad School

The Graduate School offers these printable flyers and brochures about campus resources and services for graduate students. We encourage graduate programs to share these materials as part of graduate student orientation.

Access orientation materials:

  1. Download PDFs of Orientation and Outreach Flyers from Box.
  2. Use the Print Ready Files folder which includes a note with suggested paper sizes and weights for printing.
  3. We recommend DoIT Digital Publishing & Printing Services (DPPS) if you are unsure of where to print.
  4. You may choose to purchase folders for orientation materials:
    1. The DPPS catalog includes a ready-to-print, 2-pocket Graduate School folder to print at your own cost.
    2. You may also work with DPPS to order pocket folders with your own logo.

Digital versions

If you are unable to print these orientation materials, we recommend sharing the following links with students as an alternative to sharing the PDFs.

Orientation materials for online students:

For programs whose students are fully online, we recommend sharing these resources as part of orientation:

  • Mental Health Services: Students can set up an Access Appointment with UHS, where a counselor can determine which services are available to them or help connect them with local resources. Let’s Talk, Uwill, Togetherall, and the crisis line are also available virtually to students regardless of their location.
  • Office of Student Assistance and Support: OSAS staff can assist graduate students, including via phone and email consultation.
  • Career- and Skill-Building Resources:These tools offer a mix of on-demand information and live webinars to help students plan for and launch a successful job search. Beyond Graduate School is geared directly toward master's students and their needs.
  • Finally, our Online Student Resource Fair, which is part of our Graduate Student Life microsite for new students, provides a list of resources that are available to students in online programs. The website also includes welcome remarks for online students, so it’s a great resource to share in the week or so leading up to the start of the program.
