Faculty Center - Entering and Submitting Final Grades

An overview and step-by-step guide to accessing grade rosters and manually entering grades through the MyUW Faculty Center.

Overview

Instructors must use Faculty Center to submit final grades and grade changes by the applicable grading deadlines. Until instructors complete grades and mark them as "Submit to Registrar," they will not be posted to student records and the Office of the Registrar will not consider them official.

Enter or update student grades according to grade roster type:

Important: The grade roster icons will not appear until grade rosters are created. Rosters are created several days prior to the last class day for the general 15-week session; for modular sessions, grade rosters will be available the Thursday before the session end date.

Alternative Methods

If you would prefer not to directly enter grades into Faculty Center, you can use the Export and Import feature to enter grades in an Excel spreadsheet and upload it to Faculty Center. For more information, see Faculty Center - Export and Import Grades.

You can also transfer grades from Canvas to the Faculty Center using the "Faculty Center Grade Prep" tool. For more information, see Canvas - Faculty Center Grade Prep Tool and Final Grade Preparation [UW-Madison].

Support

Some instructors will not have the required security settings that allow grade changes. If grading access needs to be adjusted, contact your departmental timetable representative.

For grading assistance, contact the Office of the Registrar by email registrar@em.wisc.edu or call 608-262-3811.

For a list of valid grades, visit the Office of the Registrar's website.
