Change Your Surgery Password

Surgery Passwords require changes every 180 days. It can be easily changed using a web browser or a Surgery computer on the wired network. Your Surgery Password must meet the conditions found in this article.

Changing your Surgery Password

  • From the Surgery Intranet, go to Administration -> Information Technology (IT), then click the orange "Change Password" button

  • While logged into a Surgery desktop, press Ctrl+Alt+Delete and click the Change Password button

Surgery Password Requirements

  1. At least eight (8) characters long
  2. At least one upper-case letter
  3. At least one lower-case letter
  4. At least one number
  5. At least one special character (e.g. ! $ #)
  6. Password not used within the last 10 password resets

Surgery Password Expiration Warning

Surgery IT will now be sending password expiration reminder emails in accordance with our security protocols. When your Surgery password is close to expiring, you will be sent a reminder email from help@surgery.wisc.edu. These emails are legitimate and serve as a proactive measure to ensure the compliance of our systems and user accounts.
