Service Overview
WiscWeb is a University funded tool for building and maintaining accessible, mobile-friendly, branded websites. The service utilizes WordPress as a content management system, and the UW Theme 2.0 as the default template. The theme is built for the block editor (Gutenberg), and combines bold UW–Madison design with flexible layouts to help you create websites that are accessible, intuitive, and distinctly UW.
More information about WiscWeb (ex: what is included, benefits analysis, and use cases), terms of service, and our most frequently asked questions can be found on the WiscWeb website. You can also view an introduction video that contains some information.
Faculty, staff, and researchers can request a WiscWeb project for websites that contribute to the core mission of the University. More about account eligibility and obtaining access are here in the UW KnowledgeBase.
