Voicemail
- Accessing your voicemail from a phone, dial 262-2500

- Rules to changing your PIN:

The PIN is not the same as any previous PIN.

The digits are not all the same (99999).

The digits are not consecutive (12345).

The digits cannot strictly repeat (872872, 101010).

The PIN is not the same as the extension.

The PIN does not spell the subscribers name.

- Voicemail lockout period is 30 minutes if you enter your PIN incorrectly three times.
Self Care Portal is used for:
- Call Forwarding
- note, if the line you are forwarded to is on a call, or forwarded to voicemail, the incoming caller will receive your own voicemail message.
- Ring Settings (for hard phones)
- Speed dial settings (for hard phones)
- Voicemail Notifications (message waiting light and display settings on your hard phone)
- and more
Transferring a Call on a Physical Phone
- From a connected call (not on hold), press the Transfer button

- Enter the transfer recipient’s phone number.
- Press the Transfer button or the Transfer softkey (before or after the recipient answers).
- The transfer completes.
Setting up Speed Dial
You can program up to 99 numbers to speed dial on the Cisco hard phones.
Setting up speed dial is done in the Cisco Self Care Portal
- Open a web browser
- launch http://go.wisc.edu/6fz24i (log in with your netid)
- On the Left Menu, choose "Phone Settings"
- choose speed dial numbers
- click to add a new number
- First Box is the number to call. Must use the VOIP dialing requirements
- Second Box is the name or description
- Third box is the phone pad number to assign this speed dial: 1-99
- Save
How to use Speed Dial:
Option 1:
- Press the down button to scroll through the list of your speed dial contacts

- You will notice in the view window, the button for "Call." Push it.
- The phone will dial the number in speaker phone mode.
- Pick up the handset.
Option 2:
- Leave the handset in the cradle
- Push the number assigned to person you want to call (ex. push the "1" then "9" to call #19 in your speed dial directory)
- You will notice in the view window, the button for "AbbrDial". Push it.
- The phone will dial the number in speaker phone mode.
- Pick up the handset.
*Your first two or three speed dial numbers will also appear in the Cisco phone display as soft buttons.
Cisco Webex
Cisco Webex is the Desktop Application that allows users to access their phone numbers through their computers. More information about Cisco Webex can be found here:
