ECMS - Getting authorized for the Imaging System

The Imaging System houses documents for a variety of divisions, departments and groups across campus. This document details the process for requesting access to the Imaging System based on the documents needed.

How do I get access to the Imaging System?

Groups of documents in the Imaging System have data approvers. A data approver for a given set of documents submits requests to DoIT Security to grant users access to the Imaging System. For more on how to request access to the Imaging system please see ECMS -  I need access to documents stored in the Imaging System.

Who is my data approver?

The data approver depends on the documents you need to access. The list of data approvers can be found at the following location:

In many cases, the data approver will be someone in your department. However, there are some sets of documents in the Imaging System that may be accessed by a variety of departments across campus. If it's not clear who your data approver is, please contact the DoIT Help Desk for further assistance.

It is recommended that each implementation in the Imaging system have at least two data approvers at all times.

How long does it take to get access to the Imaging System?

Once a request has been submitted to DoIT Security by a data approver, it will typically be processed within 3 business days.
