GSTS - Training Required to See Student Advisement Reports
This document instructs different users on the training and security access required to access the Graduate Student Tracking System (GSTS) to view student advisement reports.

Click on your user type below to learn about the required training and security role you need to access student advisement reports.
Graduate Program Coordinators or Managers (or Other Program Staff)
- Enroll in and complete the required Canvas course: Graduate Student Tracking System (GSTS) Reports and Exceptions Tool.
- Submit the Canvas Training Completion Acknowledgement portion (instructions found within the Canvas course)
- Submit request for security role for SIS
- You will need to request the GS_AA_PROGRAM role
Faculty Advisors
- Automatically granted access to advisement reports for students you advise or serve on their committee.
- If faculty are serving in a role (ie Director of Graduate Studies) that requires advanced access, you may complete the Canvas course: Graduate Student Tracking System (GSTS) Reports and Exceptions Tool.
- You will also need to submit request for security role for SIS
- Advanced access requires GS_AA_PROGRAM role
- You will also need to submit request for security role for SIS
Current Graduate Students
- Currently enrolled graduate students are automatically granted access to view their advisement report via Student Center.
Program Milestones
If you would like to use the program milestones capability, you must complete a second Canvas course: Graduate Student Tracking System Program Milestones Training. Contact the GSTS Coordinator for information on how to add program-specific milestones to your program's advisement reports.
