Unizin Engage - Reading eTexts on Engage (UW-Madison)

Unizin Engage is only available to instructors and students who are in a class that is participating in the eText pilot. For more information on the pilot please see the pilot page on the Educational Innovation site.

This document outlines how an instructor or student can access eTexts in Unizin Engage.

While mobile apps exist for iOS and Android we strongly recommend you use Unizin Engage with Firefox or Chrome in order to access all its features.

To open an eText in the Unizin Engage platform:

  1. Login to Canvas at:
  2. Click on the Canvas course that is utilizing an Engage eText.
  3. Click on the Engage eText link in your course menu:
    Engage eText Canvas course link
The link to the Engage eText tool may appear in a different location in your Canvas menu - for example further down the list.
  4. A new browser tab should open with Unizin Engage. If it does not, you may need to click the purple Launch Unizin Engage button that displays in Canvas:
Click the purple "Launch Unizin Engage" button

We do not recommend that users bookmark the Unizin Engage eText directly as it is likely you will experience the issue described in Unizin Engage - Known Issue - Unizin Engage displays login information when going to a saved bookmark for eText . Instead login to Canvas as described above to access the course and Unizin Engage via the Engage eText course menu option.
