Daily permits are valid on the date(s) approved by UW-Madison Transportation Services.

Parking locations and hours

Valid in assigned lot at the time(s) approved by UW Transportation Services.

Half-day, full-day, and night options are available.

Department limited parking permits

Valid dates

Department limited permits are valid from September 1 through August 31.

Parking locations and hours

Department limited permits are valid for lot-specific parking from 12:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m., Monday through Sunday. 

Department limited permits are also valid in alternate campus lots for after-hours parking (4:30 p.m. - 7:00 a.m. Monday through Friday, and all-day Saturday and Sunday).

Exceptions

Not valid when a lot is reserved for a special event or closed for construction. The primary permit holder receives notification and relocation options when a lot is closed, and is responsible for notifying all permit users when relocation is required. 

Vehicles may not be stored (parked) in a parking facility without exiting for more than 72 hours without authorization by UW Transportation Services.

Moped parking permits

Valid dates

Annual moped permits and annual accessible moped permits are valid September 1 through August 31.

Monthly (temporary) accessible moped permits are valid for two months with a physician's note, or for the duration equivalent to a temporary, state-issued disabled parking permit.

Parking locations and hours

Campus moped lots require lot-specific moped permits from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Residential moped lots require lot-specific moped permits from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Any moped permit is valid in all-access moped lots from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Annual accessible and temporary accessible moped permits are valid in moped stalls across campus.

Exceptions

Mopeds may not park more than 72 hours without moving unless authorized by UW Transportation Services.

Permits are not valid when a lot is reserved for a special event or closed for construction. Permit holders receive notification and relocation options when a lot is closed.

Park & ride and remote lot parking permits

Valid dates

Annual park & ride and remote lot permits are valid September 1 through August 31. 

Monthly park & ride and remote lot permits are valid on a month-to-month basis as determined by Transportation Services.

Parking locations and hours

  • Lot 202 (Park and Wingra)
  • Lot 204 (3500 University Avenue)
  • Lot 206 (Aberg and Packers)

Permits are valid for parking during lot open hours. Overnight parking is not allowed.

Park & ride and remote lot permits are also valid for on-campus parking in lots where UW permits are required after hours (4:30 p.m. to 7 a.m. Monday through Friday, and all day Saturday and Sunday). These are the "yellow lots" on the campus parking map (PDF) 

Also visit the interactive campus map for lot locations. 

UW park and ride / remote lots are served by shuttles which run to and from the university campus and UW Hospital and Clinics.

Reserved parking stalls

Valid dates

Departments may reserve (a) designated stall(s) from September 1 through August 31.

Locations and hours

A specific stall may be reserved in a preferred surface lot or garage.

Service and vendor parking permits

Valid dates

Service and vendor permits are valid from September 1 through August 31.

Parking locations and hours

Valid for short-term parking in designated service/vendor parking stalls in garages and surface lots across campus. Refer to stall signs for specific regulations.

Exceptions

Permits are not valid when a lot is reserved for a special event or closed for construction. The primary permit holder receives notification and relocation options when a lot is closed and is responsible for notifying all permit users when relocation is required.
