Cisco VoIP - Managing multiple lines with Jabber

How to switch between multiple lines in the Jabber for desktop clients.

Please note that only Jabber for Windows and Mac can have multiple lines. You can have up to 8 lines on a Jabber account. Jabber does not support having speeddials, only  Neither Jabber iPhone nor Android can have mutliple lines. The user must have the Jabber 12.7 for multiple line appearances. To find what version of Jabber you have:

  1. Go the gear-shaped icon on the top of window.
  2. Select Help
  3. Select About Jabber

Switching between lines to make a call

At the bottom of the Jabber window, press the down arrow to display all lines available on this phone. If there is not enough room to display all the lines, use your down arrow to scroll through the lines. Hit enter to select the highlighted line to make that the active line. The active line will show in blue and will also be displayed at the bottom of the Jabber window.

Starting in Jabber 12.8, users can control line ringing on multiple lines

Click the 'Settings' icon and choose 'Settings' from drop-down menu

Click 'Settings' icon

Click 'Notifications' on the left panel of the Settings box.  On the 'Notifications' page there is a drop-down menu to select a line appearance and a drop-down menu to select the ringtone for the line appearance.  If the user does not want the line to ring, select '-No Ringtone-.
