HelioCampus AC - Course Sections - Publishing a Course Section (Admin) [UW-Madison]
Course sections must be published before they can be assigned to an evaluation.
HelioCampus AC auto-publishes all course sections the first Monday after the first day of classes. If you are a Department Administrator, and your department needs to schedule an evaluation before this date would like to add a course to the survey before that date, you must manually publish the course section.
Note: Only publish courses that need to be evaluated prior to the end of week 1. For all other courses, wait for course sections to be auto-published.
What is the earliest date I can publish a course section?
You can do this once a term is added to HelioCampus AC; generally one week after enrollment begins.
Manually publishing a course section
Navigate to Course Sections manager
- Log into HelioCampus AC with your NetID credentials.
- Select the Menu button (nine squares arranged in a grid) on the left side of the page to open the HelioCampus AC main menu.

- Under the Educational Experiences header, select Course Sections.

- The Available Course Sections page lists all of the course sections you can access.

- Expand the More Options menu and select Change Status.


- Select the blue +Add button on the sidebar that appears.

Adding Course Sections to be published
- A pop-up appears with a search bar. Search for and select the course sections, then select Add in the pop-up.

- Alternatively, if you select the magnifying glass button, enhanced search will open. Here, you can apply filters to narrow search results.

- When using the enhanced search, search functionality is available, and by clicking the Filters option, specific filters can be applied. Once filters have been applied, they will display below the search bar and can be removed individually or in bulk. Course sections can be selected in bulk using the checkbox at the top of the table of listings, or individually using the checkbox beside each listing.

If course sections are selected in bulk, the scope of the bulk selection can be defined.

Select visible Course Sections: This is the default option. This option limits the bulk selection to the rows currently loaded on the page.

Select available Course Sections: This option expands the selection to every course section that matches the search and filter criteria, including result not currently visible on-screen.

- After selecting the sections, click Update Selection.

- After the selections from the enhanced search have been updated, click Add.

Publishing Course Sections
- The selected sections will display and can be removed if any were selected in error. By default, syllabus‑related requirements that would normally keep a section from being published will be disregarded. For example, settings inherited from the associated course or org-hierarchy settings.
- To complete the bulk status change, click Publish Course Sections.
