Current Projects/Initiatives: improving naloxone distribution from our health system and improve availability to patients, improving post-splenectomy vaccine adherence rates by development of tools for the EMR and education of staff, developing patient educational materials for opioid safety, weaning, and tapering post procedures, pain training for new on boarding pharmacists and Pain Resource Nurses, pain in services to general surgery staff and clinics, Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocols that apply multimodal therapy and counseling to improve patient outcomes.
Research Interests: post-splenectomy vaccination compliance, community availability of naloxone as an opioid rescue agent, neuropathic pain, post-operative pain control, and prophylaxis and treatment of venous thromboembolism
