AI Tools in Slate
This KB provides an overview of some of the ways AI tools can be used in Slate, specifically to search KB documentation, compose email to applicants, analyze query results, and investigate application information.
KB Documentation Search
When in Slate, you can use AI to search our KnowledgeBase documentation following the directions below.
- Select the AI icon in the right-hand panel, which looks like three stars or sparkles (see screenshot below).
- In the panel that appears on the right side of the screen, type your KB question in the prompt box and hit the enter key, and results will populate (see screenshot below). Like most AI tools, better and more precise prompts return better and more precise results.
Composing Emails to Applicants
When writing an email in Slate to an applicant, you can use AI to help compose the email following the directions below.
- Select an applicant's email address to open an email editor (see Send an email to a single applicant in Slate KB document for more directions).
- Select the AI icon in the bottom right hand corner of the email editor, which looks like three stars or sparkles (see screenshot below).
- In the window that opens, type in your prompt and select enter or press the AI icon button, as shown in the screenshot below. Like most AI tools, better and more precise prompts return better and more precise results.
- Once the AI message has been composed, select the "Insert" button at the bottom left of the window to insert the message into the email editor, as shown in the screenshot below. From there, you can continue editing the email before you send.
Analyzing Query Results
After running a query in Slate, you can use AI to perform some quick analysis of the results.
- Run a query in Slate (see Run and Download a Homepage Query KB document for more directions).
- When viewing the query results, select the AI icon in the bottom right hand corner of the email editor, which looks like three stars or sparkles (see screenshot below).
- In the panel that appears on the right side of the screen, type your KB question in the prompt box and hit the enter key, and results will populate (see screenshot below).
Investigating Application Information
When viewing an application, you can use AI to help investigate the documents for specific information following the directions below.
- Open an application in Slate as if reviewing it for admission (see the Search for an Applicant or Application KB document for more directions)
- Navigate to the document (such as a transcript) you wish to investigate with assistance from AI. This is an important step, because the AI tool will only investigate the document that is currently being view (not the entire application).
- Once viewing the document you wish to inspect, select the AI icon in the bottom right hand corner of the email editor, which looks like three stars or sparkles (see screenshot below).
- In the panel that appears on the right side of the screen, type your KB question in the prompt box and hit the enter key, and results will populate (see screenshot below).
