Guide: How to use Footnotes

This document provides instruction on how to build and delete footnotes in Lumen.

How to use Footnotes

Footnotes can be useful to provide additional reference or context within a Course List. This overview will explain how to both place a footnote and how to place a footnote table.


Adding the footnote into the table:

  1. Double click in the blue box that you want to enter a footnote.

  1. If not already present, scroll through the course list or add the course via Quick Add to identify the course(s) where you want to place the footnote

  1. Select your course; enter which footnote number you would like to use.

    1. Click “OK

4. Click “OK” to save.


Placing the footnote table:

  1. Place your cursor where you would like to enter the new table for footnotes.

  2. Select the “Insert/Edit Formatted Table”

  1. Select “Footnotes” in the dropdown menu.

  1. Click the “New Footnote” to add a new footnote.

  1. Enter your footnote number.

  1. Enter your information as needed for the footnote.

    1. Click “OK”

  1. Result:

  2. Make sure to click “OK” to save changes.


Using Footnotes in Text (not in a table)
  1. Edit the content tab in which you want to add a footnote.

  2. Click in the content where you want to add a footnote, and then click the superscript icon.

  1. Type the footnote number.

  1. Add a footnote table from the table dropdown after your text.
