What makes UW Health’s PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency Program unique?
Since 1963, UW Health placed pharmacists in a position to help patients first. Residents are integral members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team and we use their expertise to identify opportunities to improve patient outcomes. Resident learning is guided and supported by nationally recognized pharmacists. It is a premiere destination to gain the experience you need to take the next step in your career.
What goals do you have for residents who complete your residency program?
PGY1 residents completing the program should be well-rounded, competent clinical pharmacists who are able to manage the complex patients we care for in academic medicine. Residents should also successfully identify and achieve their professional goals, which often means preparation for a PGY2 residency program. Goals may change throughout residency, regardless, we are here to facilitate achieving them.
What is your best advice for prospective residency candidates?
Residency recruitment season is a time to shine. Highlight your strengths to potential programs. It is also a time to reflect on your weaknesses. Seek out a program that helps addresses your opportunities to improve and enhances your strengths!
