_____

This program is designed to provide the residents a broad and in-depth exposure to inpatient and outpatient oncology pharmacy practice. This consists of clinical rotations in the inpatient and/or outpatient settings in hematology, various solid tumors (oncology), pediatrics, and stem cell transplantation (BMT, including CAR-T) at an academic medical center designated as a National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) member institution and as a National Cancer Institute Comprehensive Cancer Center. Residents also have experiences in oncology operations and management, as well as longitudinal ambulatory clinics.

What makes UW Health’s Oncology Residency Program unique?
The UW Health Oncology Pharmacy Residency Program exposes residents to all aspects of oncology pharmacy at the only NCI and NCCN designated comprehensive cancer center in Wisconsin. Our skilled preceptor team and our strong interdisciplinary relationships across the UW Carbone Cancer Center prepare our residents to excel in caring for cancer patients across care settings.
What goals do you have for residents who complete your residency program?
My goal is to help residents identify and achieve their personal and professional goals. Given oncology pharmacy is a rapidly changing field, I want to assist residents in finding their passion and strengths to apply to the care of cancer patients.
What is your best advice for prospective residency candidates?
Recruitment season is a great opportunity for residents and students to build relationships that may further advance their own professional development. Oncology pharmacy is a small community; we lean heavily on these relationships to help our residents and students transition into successful roles and to share best practices to optimize the care of cancer patients.
