Lumen Policy: Rules for Including Academic Pages in the Guide

This help document details the approved rules for the naming convention of Guide URLs.

The University’s academic structure and what is entered on the transcript form the basis for determining what pages are included in the academic program pages in the Guide.  There are other types of pages that describe services, policies and units within the university and these pages are outside the scope of this document.
The overriding principle is this: All credentials that are noted on the UW-Madison transcript will be represented with a page in the Guide.  Each credential has a code(s) in the academic structure tables in the Student Information System and these codes are used as the basis for defining what in in the Guide and where it is located.
These rules were approved by ACPRAC on August 31, 2017.
