FA - Gift Need (Need Not Met by Gift Aid)

Gift Need the gap between the cost of attending college and the gift aid a student is granted. In other words, it is the gap that remains for an individual student after all scholarship and grands (but not loans and Federal Work Study) are applied towards their Federal Need.
Federal Need – Total Gift Aid = Gift Need


Equation Examples:

$5,000 Federal Need - $3,000 Grant Aid awarded  = $2,000 Gift Need
$5,000 Federal Need - $10,000 Grant Aid awarded  = $0 Gift Need
