Why UW? I chose UW Health for my PGY2 Infectious Diseases residency because of the diverse immunocompetent and immunocompromised patient populations cared for that will allow me to develop my clinical ID skills as a valued member on interprofessional teams. It was evident after completing my PGY1 training at UW Health how respected and integrated clinical pharmacists are for every step of the patient care process, and the significant impact they have on improving patient outcomes. The culture at UW Health is very inclusive and fosters a supportive environment for residents to gain exposure to complex patient cases, work with leaders in the field, and make meaningful impacts on patient care. I am confident my residency training at UW Health will prepare me for future success and put me in a good position for launching my career as an ID pharmacist.
