Why UW? My PGY-1 year allowed me to delve into a wide variety of specialties, each with the help of phenomenal preceptors and providers, and I view my PGY-2 year as a unique opportunity to continue learning and growing as a health care professional within those specialties. Expectations of residents are naturally high, but with a collaborative attitude and a focus on developing clinical independence, the culture of lifelong learning at UW helped me feel motivated and empowered to take responsibility for my patients, projects, and leadership roles. I cannot wait to gain a deeper understanding of the complex interplay between immunosuppression, antimicrobial prophylaxis, and chronic disease states among transplant patients, and to become an integrated part of the transplant pharmacy team.
